As a seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Crosland has demonstrated the ability to build successful teams and companies.
Mr. Crosland serves as General Partner and Founder of CoinZoom Securities Capital Partners, an early stage VC fund with offices in Salt Lake City and the MENA region, focused on backing technology companies in the Seed through Series B stages. Mr. Crosland also currently serves as the Founder and CEO of CoinZoom Securities Ventures.
CoinZoom Securities Capital Partners raises capital from institutional LPs, corporates, high net worth angel investors and family offices. CoinZoom Securities Capital Partners allows LPs to co-invest alongside the fund on a deal-by-deal basis. They can also co-invest along with global investors registered with CoinZoom Securities Ventures, the affiliated Broker-Dealer. CoinZoom Securities Ventures is a SEC registered Broker-Dealer and a Member FINRA/SIPC with over 12,000 registered investors, entrepreneurs and members, from over 140 countries.
Previously, Mr. Crosland held the position of Founder and CEO of Interbank FX, LLC ("IBFX”), a venture-backed Futures Commission Merchant and Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer registered with the U.S. Commodities Futures Trading Commission. IBFX was a worldwide leader in retail Forex trading services. IBFX offered individual traders, fund managers and institutional customer’s proprietary technology and tools to trade Forex online and saw global customers grow to over 40,000, in more than 140 countries. Annual trading volume reached $750 billion. IBFX had 120 employees and offices in Beijing, China; Seoul, South Korea; Sydney, Australia; Salt Lake City, Utah and London, England.
Mr. Crosland has received many awards, including: The Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and numerous Inc. 500 awards.
Mr. Crosland holds a B.A. in Business (Business Finance) from the University of Utah. He also currently holds the following Securities Licenses: Series 7, 24, and 63.
General Counsel Chief Compliance Officer or CoinZoom Securities. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring that the firm is in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Prior to joining CoinZoom Securities, he was the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel of several different early Crypto Startups in Silicon Valley and is the author of the book “Crypto Asset & ICO Governance, Risk Management and Compliance – A Concise Guidebook for Financial and Legal Service Providers to The Emerging Crypto Asset Class.”
Previous roles included Chief Compliance Officer of SharesPost, Chief Compliance Officer of First Republic Bank’s Investment Adviser (First Republic Investment Management), General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Advanced Settlements, Director of Compliance for Principal Global Investors and Counsel and Compliance Officer for the New York Branch of the German Bank WestLB AG.
Mr. Christofilis is an attorney admitted to the bars of New York and New Jersey, is a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist and is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Mr. Christofilis received a J.D. from Touro Law, an MBA in finance from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s degree in management from Pace University in New York
Before co-founding CoinZoom Securities Ventures, Mr. Crosland built production software for nearly 10 years. He began his first programming position as a high school sophomore, building educational software for children at the Waterford Research Institute. During his undergraduate computer science studies at Stanford University, he taught introductory computer science as a Section Leader and worked as an intern at Amazon building encryption tools with the security platform team. Most recently, Mr. Crosland worked on the small team of engineers that built Addepar's financial analysis product for venture capital and private equity funds.
Having watched several university classmates launch startups and raise funding, Mr. Crosland is very interested in empowering the best entrepreneurs in the world to raise funding without diverting too much focus away from running their startups.
Mr. Crosland holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
