As a seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Crosland has demonstrated the ability to build successful teams and companies.
Mr. Crosland serves as General Partner and Founder of Seed Equity Capital Partners, an early stage VC fund with offices in Salt Lake City and the MENA region, focused on backing technology companies in the Seed through Series B stages. Mr. Crosland also currently serves as the Founder and CEO of Seed Equity Ventures.
Seed Equity Capital Partners raises capital from institutional LPs, corporates, high net worth angel investors and family offices. Seed Equity Capital Partners allows LPs to co-invest alongside the fund on a deal-by-deal basis. They can also co-invest along with global investors registered with Seed Equity Ventures, the affiliated Broker-Dealer. Seed Equity Ventures is a SEC registered Broker-Dealer and a Member FINRA/SIPC with over 12,000 registered investors, entrepreneurs and members, from over 140 countries.
Previously, Mr. Crosland held the position of Founder and CEO of Interbank FX, LLC ("IBFX”), a venture-backed Futures Commission Merchant and Retail Foreign Exchange Dealer registered with the U.S. Commodities Futures Trading Commission. IBFX was a worldwide leader in retail Forex trading services. IBFX offered individual traders, fund managers and institutional customer’s proprietary technology and tools to trade Forex online and saw global customers grow to over 40,000, in more than 140 countries. Annual trading volume reached $750 billion. IBFX had 120 employees and offices in Beijing, China; Seoul, South Korea; Sydney, Australia; Salt Lake City, Utah and London, England.
Mr. Crosland has received many awards, including: The Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and numerous Inc. 500 awards.
Mr. Crosland holds a B.A. in Business (Business Finance) from the University of Utah. He also currently holds the following Securities Licenses: Series 7, 24, and 63.
Prior to joining Seed Equity Ventures and Seed Equity Capital Partners, Mr. An served as Chief Compliance Officer at Interbank FX, LLC (“IBFX”). From 2008 until his departure from IBFX, Mr. An built the IBFX compliance team into an industry- leading department for employees and customers worldwide. Mr. An was directly recruited from the National Futures Association (“NFA”) the premier independent provider of efficient and innovative regulatory programs that protect the integrity of the derivatives markets. Mr. An was also heavily involved in white-label business in South Korea. Mr. An made several trips to South Korea and established a strong presence with major financial institutions.
In 2010, Mr. An involved in the organization and incorporation of IBFX Australia Pty. Ltd, which was the first licensed international affiliate of IBFX. Mr. An served as a Responsible Manager and Company Director. Mr. An was RG146 certified to advice retail clients on Forex and Derivative products in Australia.
Mr. An has earned his Series 7, 24 and 63 security licenses and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Mr. Hiller earned his JD and MBA degrees from the University of Utah. Mr. Hiller focused his education on securities regulation and finance.
Prior to working for Seed Equity, Mr. Hiller worked for a private equity consulting firm spending most of his time forming special purpose vehicles for investments in early stage companies and assisting in both federal and state securities compliance. Mr. Hiller also worked for Fenton Financial reviewing and drafting various real estate contracts and resolving real estate related legal issues.
Mr. Hiller also holds the Series 7, and 63 securities licenses.
Before co-founding Seed Equity Ventures, Mr. Crosland built production software for nearly 10 years. He began his first programming position as a high school sophomore, building educational software for children at the Waterford Research Institute. During his undergraduate computer science studies at Stanford University, he taught introductory computer science as a Section Leader and worked as an intern at Amazon building encryption tools with the security platform team. Most recently, Mr. Crosland worked on the small team of engineers that built Addepar's financial analysis product for venture capital and private equity funds.
Having watched several university classmates launch startups and raise funding, Mr. Crosland is very interested in empowering the best entrepreneurs in the world to raise funding without diverting too much focus away from running their startups.
Mr. Crosland holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
